About the Artist
Born in San Diego, California, I developed an early and enduring affinity for water, nature, and animals. Many of my childhood family vacations revolved around exploring the outdoors and spending time on the water, and I have especially fond memories of snorkeling and discovering the vibrant life beneath the surface.
My love of art began just as naturally. My mother was always incredibly encouraging of my creativity, and some of my earliest artistic memories are of afternoons at the local park, where we would sit together and practice drawing what we saw around us. I also fondly remember watching my mother paint—experiences that nurtured my own appreciation for the creative process and stayed with me throughout my life.
I moved to the Pacific Northwest to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Although my studies led me into the sciences, my connection to nature and the water remained a constant source of inspiration. After returning to San Diego for work, I further explored my fascination with the underwater world by becoming a scuba diver and underwater photographer, deepening my appreciation for the beauty, movement, and diversity of marine life.
Today, I live in the Pacific Northwest, surrounded by the forests, waterways, wildlife, and ever-changing landscapes that have always inspired me. My background in biology, lifelong connection to nature, and love of animals all find their way into my artwork. Through my work, I strive to capture the beauty and character of the natural world while celebrating the creatures and places that have inspired me throughout my life.
