My mixed media animal portraits are a celebration of the animals who bring companionship, character, and joy into our lives. Each piece begins with hand-cut patterned papers, carefully selected and layered to build the foundation of the portrait. I collage these individual pieces together, allowing the colors, patterns, and textures of the paper to become part of the animal’s personality.

Once the collage is complete, I layer paint and ink over the paper to add dimension, expression, and fine details. This combination of materials creates a balance between bold pattern and realistic portraiture, giving each animal a sense of depth and individuality.

I am drawn to the challenge of capturing not only an animal’s appearance, but also the spirit and personality that make them special. Through this playful and tactile process, each portrait becomes a unique celebration of the animals we love and the meaningful place they hold in our lives.
